Put five birds on it

I cut out a bunch of pattern pieces to make some Spool birds ages ago. And when we put the tree on the toddler's wall I figured some birds were called for. So I dragged them out and let her pick out the fabrics that she wanted.

These birds are kind of fussy. Hard to turn, hard to stuff, hard to close up their ever lovin tails! But the end result is so sweet...

We'll hang them up soon. And by "we", I think I mean "my husband". I'm busy finishing up my Project Modern quilt. It's killing me not to blog about it, but I feel like I need to wait.... everyone's being real hush hush about their submissions, I'm gonna pretend to fit in. So that's all the sewing I've got to share for now!

I've got a spool bird,I agree it was a bit fiddley to make but I love it! I stuffed mine with lavender and it sits on my sewing machine where I enjoy the scent. It's fun seeing them pop up all over blogland.

Ha ha. I didn't think the birds were that much trouble. I made a bunch of them for a sale. I did have a friend help with stuffing though.

It's so hard to hear that you are keeping something as wonderful as a new quilt under your hat.

These are darlin! Can't wait to see them up on the wall. It's killing me not to post my PM quilt either, and yours is just so, so lovely - I can't wait to see it finished!! Ahhhhhh

Those are cute, and they look fussy! I bet it took a fair amount of time to sew, turn, and stuff those!

What a cute little bird! I will have to try to make some of those - thanks for the link! And I can't wait to see what you're working on - but I have no idea what "Project Modern" is. Can you tell us about it or do we have to wait?

Your birds are very cute and they do look like it took a lot of time to do them, but they look like they were worth the effort.
