My life is a glorious whirlwind right now. I have nothing to show for it. Summer's just like that.

We went to the Sister's Outdoor Quilt Show this weekend! I only managed to find about half of the people that I know were there. It was fun and can you believe my husband went with me?! PMQG was invited for a special exhibit and my Cascade quilt was included. I got to meet Lucy Mingo, a quilter from Gee's Bend. She's been quilting longer than I've been alive. I was a dork, and she was graceful and kind despite it being the end of a long day. I wish I had asked her more about what she was working on, what inspires her, but I didn't, dang it.

I took more pictures of my kid than quilts. Here she is about one minute before getting carsick.

And here she is in the new clothes we procured. Ice cream was daddy's idea: I'm not insane.

I took exactly one picture of a quilt before I decided that the camera thing was just not going to work.

So, it's not just me, right? Summer's crazy?

Ahh, Summer...friends, quilts, ice cream, cleaner car(eventually), inspiring experiences,,,could anyone ask for anything more?

Yeah summer is more for eating ice cream and chilling then taking pictures.

If only we could download them from our brains... maybe one day?

Glorious whirlwind. I love that phrase.

Congrats on having your quilt shown. I'll have to read up on that quilt show. Amy posted pictures from her visit in case you or others want to see more: http://amyscreativeside.com/2011/07/12/sisters-quilt-show/

I have not made it through all the pictures yet but I plan to. I'm stuck in the middle of my own glorious whirlwind. :-)

oh sorry I missed you. The quilt show was wonderful and our group found PMQG, everything looked great!
I meant to take a lot of pictures but kept forgetting. I think I took a total of 3.

No, it's not just you:) My cousin and I do a lot of canning, and that means 4 kids (ages 5, 2.5, 2.5, and 7 months) running wild for a couple of hours while we (scratch that--it's mostly she doing the work since baby Veronica refuses to be put down) sweat it out in the kitchen. By the time we're done, the house and garage are a wreck, but the taste of summer in the cold months is totally worth it! I can't wait until my girls are old enough to help out.

Summer is insane, but glorious is another great word for it. It is a time to break the rules, let your hair down (and then quickly put it back up because it is too darned HOT to have your hair down), eat dessert (read: ice cream) first, stay up late, go barefoot, let the housework go, call in for a mental health day, drive with no destination in mind, try new routines, just enjoy LIFE! (well, and work, but I'm trying to pretend that I don't)
