So...my new hobby is napping. And that's how mid-November just sprung up on me out of nowhere.
Occasionally something happens between naps. Taught a fun free motion quilting class with a bunch of great ladies. Problems were solved. Beautiful quilting emerged. Utter delight!
Drove to see my sister play her first playoff game in NCAA women's soccer. Wish I could see the next one on Friday but that's in Memphis. I will be all over the live audio though.
Two of my quilts are hanging on the wall at the Art Institute of Portland. The show is called "Pattern Recognition" and it's curated by an artist friend. So exciting being included in this unique show! I told my friend it made me feel "like a real artist". What a telling choice of words. And how is this for humbling? He called them afghans. Twice.
Finally, beyond thrilling is seeing my first published pattern in the newly released "Colour" issue of Fat Quarterly. I have to admit that because I am intolerably...frugal...it's the first Fat Quarterly issue I've actually seen and I am happy to report I really enjoyed it! I feel like I got both knowledge and inspiration out of the issue, what a nice combination. Guess it's time to subscribe!
So, those are my headlines. I'll be back soon with actual patchwork and stuff. Right... after...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Congrats on the exhibition and FQ! Thought that pattern looked familiar!
I love both of those quilts...so glad to see them in the show. Afghans....seriously what is he thinking??? Also congrats for the Fat Quarterly pattern.
Congratulations. I did see your famous quilt in the digital pages of the new FQ. Stunning quilt. I think Nanna naps only enrich our creative side.
Ah, to nap! Enjoy those. I'm sure the creative juices are flowing freely in your dreams.
oh, I loved your quilt when I saw it in FQ. Congrats for the new opportunity!
Naps are big at my house too ~ the cats and me.
Loved the class with you and all the ladies ~ it was fun and informative. Took some of the mystery out of free motion quilting for me.
Lastly, congratulations on being in a 'real' art show!
Congratulations on the Art Show. I love both of those quilts and how nice to have them exhibited. You are an "Artist".

Sorry I'm so late on the comment parade for this post, but I keep forgetting to ask "afghan man" for your blog address! I just got self-motivated and googled you. Your quilts in the show were STUNNING! What a joy to see them! And Lily loved them. That was her first gallery show night ever. What a great one to start with! I'm so excited I found you all by myself! yay!
