What a fun week! I've been enjoying hearing your positive feedback on my new class Quilting the Grid. Thank you, whether you've stopped to let me know on Facebook, Instagram, in the Craftsy class reviews or the comments in the class, it means so much! I'm glad that other quilters get excited about the things I get excited about.
For those of you who haven't been able to join the class yet, I have two things for you.
Second, I made a YouTube video of the new grid design above, which looks just like a Kaleidoscope piecing design. Beginners: you can do this! It's just one simple movement, over and over. You'll get it down quick. Check it out:
This looks great in one color or in two! If you try it let me know what you think!

This is beautiful Christina! Thank you for sharing it! Christine x
Thanks for sharing. I am enjoying your class--beginner that I am!
A fun and easy to do design, thanks for the video. So glad to hear your class is well received, but not surprised:)
I love all your classes, the new grid class is a wonderful addition
It looks great - and surprisingly simple for the complex looking finish.
Super nice design. Thanks for the video!
I REALLY enjoyed that class and can't wait to try it out but my machine is being serviced. WAAAAH!! I would really like to see this particular motif you just shared with us tried with two colors of thread and the eyeballs being sewn with all one color in a line and then the next line the alternate color. The same way for the lines going the opposite direction. Does this make sense? If I'm figuring it right, this should make a secondary pattern of circles. Can you try this and show us what it looks like?
HA, if it were only that easy! YOU make it LOOK easy! Thanks for the great video & idea!
Really beautiful design. Thanks for sharing the video as you make it look so easy. I'm looking forward to giving this a try.

It does look do-able, if only I would just do it! ;o)
Hi Christina,
I am not sure if you answer these or not, but I have a sewing machine question. Disappointed with the Bernina I bought 3 years ago, I keep thinking about your Juki I saw when you came to Hood River and did a FMQ class for us. If you were buying a machine today for piecing and quilting, what Juki model would you go for? (I will never be a long arm quilter because I don't have the space, but I do have room for a sit down sort of FMQ set up...) thank you in advance. No worries if you can't answer this; I am sure you get a lot of mail and comments! Allyson Smith
This looks great!
Hi Allyson, I think my Juki is a great one, not complicated and does everything I need it to do for quilting: straight, strong, fast stitch, and with a lot of harp space. There is a new version of my machine that has a blue panel on it but is otherwise exactly the same. I think this would be a great machine, I stitched many hours on it for my latest Craftsy class. Janomes are well loved and quite affordable too! I hope you get a machine you really enjoy!
Hello Christina. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I am still not sure what model(s) you are talking about. Much as I hate to bother you, I wonder if you could give me a bit more detail?? Again, thank you. Allyson
Hi again Allyson, my model is the TL 2010q. I'm not sure what the new model that I was sewing on at Craftsy is! It seemed virtually identical to mine except some of it was blue instead of white. I hope that helps!
Thanks so much Christina. That definitely helps. I was so impressed by your quilting, your teaching, and your machine when you came to our Guild to teach. I can at least come close to the same sort of machine now; the visibility with that Juki was amazing.
Ooooo, thank you for the video. I think, with practice, I could actually do this. :-)
