I just blocked a shawl I made and all my cats (3) had to sit on it at the same time! whenever I do a quilt top they have to sit on that too ... cats and kids = the same!
that's so cute, and funny! here's a cheap suggestion: find a flannel-backed picnic tablecloth in good condition at the thrift shop or splurge and buy new and lay out your blocks on that. they won't shift, even if someone walks over it. or tack it up on a wall temporarily. you can roll up the tablecloth and the blocks will stay on it. honest.
This is one of the best parts of quilting, having your family enjoy the process with you. If however you do want a design wall either use the flannel back tablecloth as another comment suggested, or put a piece of wadding up over a curtain or shut into a door. It will also hold your blocks.
Keep enjoying the 'small' moments, they go way to fast.

I use the floor all the time and love your quilt. Walking on the blocks will give them more life!!!
Whenever I lay fabric on the floor, my daughter had this overwhelming urge to walk all over what I am trying to work on!
Children are like cats. They love to be right on top of whatever we are doing.
That scene looks sooooo familiar!! I have a 2 year old little boy that screams "scatter" every time he runs across!!

So she is enjoying the quilt before it is made...
Or she is a future quilter and just getting the 'feel" of the fabric...
So funny! I was just pinning a quilt top on the floor and my Golden Retriever had to lay on top of it as I worked.
Chuckling here! So cute. Yes, I think you need a design wall! I do too, but not because of children or pets.....my KNEES!
We have the same problem over here at our house, but my little one like to steal blocks and hide them. :)

happy photos xx
She is like a hummingbird - always in motion. Adorable - enjoy this time with her.
*giggle* These photos are absolutely wonderful. Thanks for the smile! (*says again, just for fun, "walk, walk, walk"*)
So happy she is taking an interest in your quilting. My dog does the same thing, but it isn't nearly as cute as that.
When my dear Mum was alive we used to joke that a quilt wasn't considered finished until Sally the shitzu had walked across and had a sleep on it!
Oh how cute! I warn you though, be careful what you wish for. If you put up a design wall, she might start walk, walk, walking on the walls!
