Today I figured out a way to get a straight on picture of a largeish quilt without the cooperation of any tall people.
Mother nature's cooperation is still required. And one must impress upon all short people present the necessity of staying off the quilt for just-a-minute-while-mama-takes-a-picture.
But it works! I didn't want to keep the discovery to myself - hope it helps someone else!

What a great solution and your daughter is very cute
I can't count the number of pictures I have of quilts with my daughter's shoe in them. I feel your pain. That quilt is GORGEOUS!
Awesome! It came out great! Isnt it amazing how a design on paper becomes real!
A clothesline is also a handy tool..... Love your quilt!!
Love the quilt...oh ..and the little helper too! too cute!
good tactic, fabulous quilt!
Great idea, thanks for sharing! I love this quilt too!
WOW, it's really lovely Christina! and a great way to take a photo!
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Mothers are so clever! Now just got to work out how to get my boys to share the slide with their mother! Happy easter and happy quilting, Sue SA.
I love the texture the wood chips or sand give to the area around the quilt. My kids always try to weasel their way into the picture. In the dozens I take, I can usually get one or two without them and several that will make my heart melt later on when I look back at how young they were when I made such and such quilt.
Very clever!! I have often tried to get far enough away to get a good shot of a quilt - but never thought of getting HIGH enough! What a great idea! What ever made you think of that?
brilliant!
i tried a similar tactic, i put the quilt on the floor and stood on the coffee table. i, however, could not convince my two-year-old that i want a picture of the quilt without her on it. i got one photo off before she noticed, and she was upset that i had started without her modeling services!
Brilliant idea!! And even more brilliant quilt!
Good Idea! I do not have a park like that near my house - but I do have a ladder!!
Hugs,
Carolyn
Love the quilt! What a fun picture and great display. Big quilts are hard to get pictures of! I like what you did.
What a fabulous quilt! I love the movement in it.
